While he sleeps Kamar Al-Zaman is spotted by a beautiful Jinniyah who believes he is the most lovely man she has ever seen. She is joined by an Ifrit named Dahnash who had just left the bedside of a beautiful woman named Budur. After some discussion, they make a wager about who is more beautiful and soon bring the two together (while they sleep). HOwever, they realize that they must get another to decide and enlist the help of yet another Ifrit. "Blind of eye, humpbacked,scurvy-skinned with eye orbs up and down his face. Seven horns, four locks of hair and pitchforked hands." This Ifrit pronounced them equal in beauty. They woke them one by one and each fell in love with the other. Then the Ifrit returned her to her home.
